Harding Farm is an historic property located at the base of College Hill in Clinton, New York.  The property was originally owned by Samuel
Kirkland, the Founder of Hamilton College.  Kirkland built the main house in 1794 and resided on the property until his death in the early 1800's.
Kirkland's home was a welcoming place to both American colonists and the Oneida Indians.  Both Kirkland and the
Oneida Chief Skenendoah
were buried beside one another  in the Farm's orchard until their bodies were exhumed and moved to the
Hamilton College cemetery in 1855.
